March 8 International Women’s Day

Divide & Empower! This year, on International Women’s Day, we’ll be in two places at once: on March 8 our exhibition Resistance is in the fibers opens in De Cacaofabriek in Helmond, and, as per tradition, we’ll be doing an instant performance at De Hall of Fame in Tilburg.

So split yourself in half, reserve your free ticket, and don’t miss it!

ACTION!

[Hall of Fame, Tilburg]

On March 8 we celebrate International Women’s Day at the Hall of Fame. The event is once again in the capable hands of Feniks & V-Fest. Zwermers will, as tradition dictates, perform a group act, this time centered on activism, past and present. And rightly so, since this year’s theme is ACTION!

We highlight feminism and activism through the years and look towards the future of emancipation and equal rights for women and everyone. Taking action for a better world can be small or large, individual or collective—and it’s desperately needed, as oppressive systems are swelling up again and won’t disappear on their own.

The afternoon will be opened by Tilburg’s first female mayor: Fleur Gräper. The day will be filled with music, dance, art, presentations, and conversations with various guests. So take action and join us!

OPENING EXPO: RESISTANCE IS IN THE FIBERS

[CACAOFABRIEK HELMOND]

Activism in your wardrobe: Dolle Mina’s in Helmond. For several weeks we have been working with local activists—Dolle Mina’s and Vrouwenbrigade members, past and present. Two generations of feminists opened their wardrobes and explored how clothing makes resistance and emancipation visible and how clothing serves as a symbol of struggle, freedom, and self-determination. The result: a jam-packed visual collage of portrait series in the light corridor of the Cacaofabriek.

The opening is part of a free program featuring, among other things, films and a panel discussion, organized by De Vrouwenbrigade and GroenLinks/PvdA. Paul is one of the panelists. Reserve your (free) ticket!

The expo can be seen until April 5, 2026.
